Diane Villadsen (VILL-id-sin) is a fashion and portrait photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work thrives on candy colors and sunshine, though an occasional foggy day is always welcome. With dream-like tones and a cinematic perspective, her images focus on color, space, and empowered femininity. She is also passionate about teaching and inspiring others through photography and enjoys connecting with other artists locally and around the world.
I’m an avid single-use-plastic avoider.
I prefer diagonally cut sandwiches to maximize the bread-to-crust ratio.
I sneeze three times when I walk into bright sunlight.
I’m a fourth-generation Californian and a third-generation water-skier.
I played the carillon (belltower) at UC Santa Barbara.
I can’t stand the sound of creasing paper.
I can fold my thumbs in a 90º angle on the back of my hands.
I haven’t seen my natural hair color since 7th grade.
The bird on my head is named Sunshine (affectionately called Sue), and he’s been around for most of my life. A 24-year-old plum-headed parakeet!
I’m an only child.
